As all people probably know the look and feel of your bathroom is really important especially if the owner wants something special and not an old rust bucket for a bath. For example your bathtub paint can really make or break a theme in your bathroom.

Not everyone can paint or touch up a bathtub on their own. Really all it takes is a little time and a little want to and anyone can do it, I mean anyone. Here is a quick start guide to get you headed in the right direction and on your way to a beautiful bathroom. In order to change or to modify the bathtub paint, there are a few guidelines to go by.
Bathtub Paint – First
The first rule for a job done right is to clean the bathtub very well with muriatic acid. This acid is really great when it comes to the cleaning of the oil or mineral stains which usually build up on the bathtub and can be very hard to clean off.
If you are going to start painting or touching up you should cover the exterior bathtub walls with paper or anything else such as the bathtub faucets, bathtub drains and the bathtub shower head in order to protect them efficiently. Note – use the blue masking tape to hold the paper or plastic firmly in place
Next, you will need to buy a bathtub paint kit, the kit should contain some acrylic paint, the bathtub would be painted either with a new color or you will be just touching up the nicks. The most used features for the bathtubs are flowers, birdies, dogs and cats, and even leopard skin.
A very important note: all the users or people working with the paint are advised to pro
tect their nose and face with a mask most bathtub paint kits will have one.
At this point the acid may have cleaned you tub so that it looks like brand new, if that is the case then return your paint kit and all it cost you was for the cleaners, not bad for some folks.
Next, the new bathtub paint should be left alone in order to give it time to dry properly. Keep all pets and children away from it until it has cured.
Do not let anything consume the paint because acrylic paints are highly poisonous. If you run in to this kind of trouble you should immediately call the poisonous control center.
Bathtub Paint – Ultimate
Finally, the ultimate step that must be thorough: the new bathtub paint should be cleaned with epoxy and the masks of the bathtub walls should be removed away. Trust on me this one and one more thing – be careful.
Use hot water if needed to clean the glue from the tape off of you faucet handle or anywhere else that you may have stuck it to.
The hot water makes it come off very easily but you may need to let it set for a minute first.
Changing and/or touching up your bathtub paint is not a hard process at all. However it still requires some skill but not much and a couple of tools along with a bathtub paint kit.
Although painting it yourself will save you a lot of money you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you did it.
